Be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless. 2 Peter 3:14

Two unusual things happened as I was sitting in a restaurant havingmy usual breakfast of a bagel and coffee. First I read an article onthe front page of the newspaper. It quoted a certain Christian authorwho theorized that Christ would call millions of Christians to heavenbefore sundown that particular day.

A few minutes later, a friend walked up, sat down, and began to tellme that his life had been dramatically changed. He said that for thefirst time in his life he was ready to meet the Lord. This was goodnews, since we had often discussed his unwillingness to live in amanner consistent with his claim to be a Christian.

He said he had decided that it was all or nothing. He had an amazingpeace, and now he was also concerned about others. When I asked himwhat had happened, he told me he had read the book I had been readingabout in the newspaper. He said he finally realized that whether Christcame on that day or another day, he would have to stand before the Lordeventually.

To claim that Christ will come today may result in a false alarm. But to believe that Christ may come today and that we will have to answer to Him will motivate us to live for Him.
